Opening configurations

The window operates in three stages: fully locked for security, tilted inward at the top for ventilation, or fully opened inward from the side for unrestricted access and airflow.

In the locked position, the window is fully sealed to deliver outstanding security, thermal performance, and weather resistance. Advanced multi-point locking mechanisms ensure a tight, secure fit within the frame, helping to reduce heat loss, prevent draughts, and provide peace of mind all year round.

Tilt mode allows the top of the window to open inward slightly, creating a controlled flow of fresh air while maintaining a high level of security. This setting is ideal for daily ventilation, helping to improve indoor air quality without compromising comfort, safety, or energy efficiency.

In turn mode, the window opens fully inward from the side, offering unrestricted airflow and complete accessibility. This function makes cleaning both sides of the glass effortless from inside the home, while also providing a practical escape route and a wide, open feel to your living space.

A tilt and turn window offers two opening styles for complete versatility. One is similar to a casement window, with side hinges and a handle that allow for opening inward. The other uses a bottom hinge, activated by the same handle but pulling downwards to let air in from above. They may come in single or double designs, all of which you can customise fully with Atlas.

Thanks to multiple locking points, tilt and turn windows are highly energy-efficient. The Alitherm 400i range is also thermally broken, ensuring cold air stays outside and warm air stays inside.

Aluminium tilt and turn windows can be opened in two ways. The bottom hinge allows you to pull the handle from the top, bringing the pane inwards for a smaller gap.

Alternatively, you can use the same handle to activate the side hinge, pulling the window inwards from the side for a larger opening. Both styles use the same handle on the side for ease and a more compact design.
