A modern rooflight for flat roofs

It’s stylish. But our unique, all-aluminium rooflight system is also built with efficiency in mind. Thermal breaks inside the system help deliver exceptional thermal performance, keeping warm air in and cold air out.

They can be specified with advanced glass options too, including solar control and self-cleaning coatings, for year-round comfort and low maintenance.

Meanwhile, the glazed flat rooflight sits flush with your plaster for a clean, frameless appearance.

Atlas flat rooflights are fully weather tested for UK conditions.

Our Flat Glass Rooflights can be specified with a range of high-performance glazing options to suit your space and lifestyle. From managing solar gain to reducing ongoing maintenance, each glass type is designed to enhance daylight while improving year-round performance.

Solar Control Glass

Uses special coatings or tints to reflect and filter the sun’s heat (infrared radiation) while letting in natural daylight, keeping buildings cooler in summer, reducing glare, cutting air conditioning costs.

Self-Cleaning Glass

Has a special transparent coating (usually titanium dioxide) that uses UV light from the sun to break down organic dirt and grime, and then uses rain (or water) to wash it away, leaving fewer streaks due to its hydrophilic (water-spreading) properties.

Atlas flat glass rooflights meet the following standards as a minimum. There are also optional upgrades or higher specifications available with certain systems:

Built with only 1.3 w/m2K U value double glazing for excellent thermal performance
Full aluminium thermally broken frame separates the air inside from outside extremes
Narrow internal sightlines give you a perfectly flush finish
Minimum roof pitch of 5 degrees allows water to drain off the rooflight naturally
Built for security – standard toughened double-glazed spec of 6mm/16mm gas/6mm Low e (U Value 1.0 w/m2K)

Hidden direct fixing and internal plasterboard pocket allow for easy boarding and plastering
Straightforward installation with clip-in external weather bar and cover trim for concealing fixings, and a recommended kerb width of 80mm
Available in three stock sizes: 1000 x 1000, 1000 x 1500, 1000 x 2000, with hundreds of made to measure bespoke sizes also available

Our FAQs cover everything you need to know about Atlas flat glass rooflights, from thermal efficiency and longevity to installation and planning considerations.

Using high-quality design and materials, flat glass rooflights should last for many years. Our Atlas aluminium rooflights are designed for longevity, with a 10-year seal and easy-clean coating warranty as standard.

UK building regulations aim to make sure that buildings are built to last and energy efficient. As such, they set minimum standards that homes and their components must achieve.

The current lowest acceptable U values (describing thermal performance) are 2.2 w/m2K for rooflights and 1.6 w/m2K for other roof windows. As such, using 1.0 w/m2K double glazing as standard and achieving overall U values of 1.4 w/m2K, Atlas flat glass rooflights perform well above the required level.

Most standard residential flat rooflights won’t require planning permission. However, this can vary based on factors such as whether the planned work will raise the height of your existing roof. It’s always best to check before starting work.
