What is the lifespan of an aluminium door?

Thanks to their durable materials, aluminium doors can last anywhere between 30 and 50 years. This is significantly longer than uPVC doors, without compromising on energy efficiency, weather resistance or aesthetics.

Is an aluminium door better than uPVC?

Aluminium outside doors are better than uPVC for quality, durability and looks. While uPVC is cheaper, it does not last as long as aluminium and may not withstand extreme weather conditions or intrusion attempts.

Our aluminium doors are manufactured with security and energy efficiency in mind, complying with BS4873/PAS24 for added protection. They also use ‘thermal break’ technology. 

While aluminium is generally a conductive material, these ‘thermal breaks’ help to create gaps between warm air inside and cold air outside, saving you money on energy bills.

Finally, aluminium is generally slimmer and more compact, allowing for larger panes of glass to maximise natural light.
