Frequently asked questions
Do roof lanterns get condensation?
Roof lanterns can get condensation due to the temperature differences between the air inside and outside your property. However, high-quality design and materials help reduce the chances of condensation occurring. At Atlas, our double or triple glazing achieves excellent thermal performance, while our insulated rafters help reduce cold spots, all lowering the chances of condensation.
What is the life expectancy of a roof lantern?
Roof lanterns built with quality materials should last for many, many years. At Atlas, we design and build our roof lanterns to the highest standards, making sure you can enjoy yours for as long as possible.
What is the difference between a rooflight and a roof lantern?
Roof lanterns elevate a flat roof through raised and angled windows and the supporting structure. Meanwhile, flat glass rooflights and skylights lie flush with your ceiling without elevating upwards.
Can you add a roof lantern to an existing roof?
Yes, you can absolutely add a roof lantern to an existing roof. Simply pick a style and size that suits your dimensions and requirements, then speak to a roof lantern expert who can help you plan and arrange installation.
